DC is trying something a little different for the latest Injustice Annual. Whereas these issues tend to focus on small standalone stories that don't really fit into the series' overarching narrative, this issue is more or less a prologue for Injustice: Year Five. The scope is bigger, but what really sells this story is the return of writer Tom Taylor and his top-notch brand of storytelling.
Not to diminish the solid work Brian Buccellato has been doing since taking the reins of the series, but Injustice is at its best with Taylor at the helm. His flair for engaging characterization and crafting big, cinematic moments gave Injustice a distinctive voice and appeal amid DC's many other superhero books. Taylor's work has lost none of its charm in his absence. This issue is a fun read, but also suitably dark and dramatic considering how far along the Injustice timeline is now and how close Superman is to becoming the complete and total despot he is in the game.

The internet exploded into a brief furor when a clip from Disney Infinity 3.0 seemed to reveal a spoiler regarding Rey from The Force Awakens, when in reality, no such spoilage occurred.

In a boss battle with an adorably Disney-fied Kylo Ren, the miniature Sith Lord (sorry, Knight of Ren) seems to say "Face me, cousin" when actually he says "Face me. Curses!" after being hit.
The vocal gaffe would have confirmed the increasingly popular fan theory that Rey is Luke Skywalker's long-lost daughter and Kylo Ren, real name Ben Solo, is his nephew.
The year is coming to an end, and in celebration, Bungie is giving away free loot to Destiny players.
Come January 7, all players will receive 15 strange coins and 15 motes of light. You can use these coins like currency in Destiny, and as Bungie writes, "buy something nice from Xûr with those coins, but don’t spend all your motes to upgrade one item." Visit the postmaster after January 7 and he'll have your packages for you. Bungie will provide an update in January to remind you about the gifts.
The company is also encouraging Destiny fans to play after the new year, offering an exclusive emblem to players who log on from January 7 to January 10. Bungie notes that you should "complete a playable activity" so that you'll be tracked. The emblems will be distributed on January 12 to those who've participated.

It's been the better part of three years since the release of Injustice: Gods Among Us, and DC's comic book prequel is still going strong. This week DC is kicking off the final leg of that prequel saga as Injustice: Year Five makes its digital debut on the DC Comics app and other digital stores. Year Five will chronicle the final conflict between Superman's regime and Batman's resistance leading up to the events of the game. Look for all sorts of classics DC villains to enter the fray in this volume, including Doomsday, Bane and Killer Frost.
We recently had a chance to chat with writer Brian Buccellato about the new series and what fans can expect from this final conflict between Batman and Superman. Buccellato also discussed how next week's Injustice: Year Four Annual fits into the bigger picture and whether there might be a future for the comic once Year Five is finished.
According to box office records, you've probably already seen Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens in cinemas this week, but the closest you'll get to seeing Rey, Finn, Poe and Kylo Ren in a video game is as part of Disney Infinity's 3.0 Edition Playset.

The good news in a survey conducted by Pew Research is that more people than ever are gaming; the bad news is only a fraction of them are willing to admit it.
According to the survey entitled Gaming and Gamers, 50% of American men and 48% of women play games, but only 10% self-identify as "gamers."
While the report doesn't directly theorize why such a small portion are willing to consider themselves gamers, it does note that "among the general public, attitudes towards games are complex and often uncertain." The survey shows equal percentages of respondents being diametrically opposed on questions like "are videogames a waste of time?" with 26% saying "true for most games," while 24% say "untrue for most games" and whether “people who play violent video games are more likely to be violent themselves,” with 40% of all adults agreeing with that statement and 53% disagreeing.

Microsoft has revealed the free games coming to the Xbox Games with Gold program during January.
According to Xbox Wire, Killer Instinct: Season 1 Ultra Edition will be free on Xbox One to all month long and Zheros will be free to download for Xbox One from January 16 to February 15.
Xbox 360 owners will be able to download DiRT Showdown the first half of January, after which it will be replaced by Deus Ex: Human Revolution for the last half of the month.
Xbox One owners can also download the free offerings for Xbox 360 since all future Xbox 360 games will be backwards compatible with Xbox One.
GTA Online's holiday update has now rolled out, introducing new masks, clothing, costumes and festive Christmas trees.
You'll also find Christmassy pyjamas, and - if you stop by Ponsonby's - there are free Bad Santa costumes available. You can also pick up a selection of festive new masks from The Mask Store, too.

Microsoft's new "Your 2015 Year In Review" site analyzes your Xbox gaming practices and shows how you stack up against the community and your friends.
To access your stats, login to the Xbox year in review page. Your report will show up there. You'll be able to see how many hours you've logged in Xbox Live in 2015, how many points you've added to your gamerscore, your most active day, and your most played game. Microsoft also shows how many hours you've spent playing Halo 5, among other things.
The site displays where you rank within the community for a variety of categories—for things like gamerscore, achievements, and time played. You'll also find out what your friends have been playing in 2015, and how long they've been playing those games.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor Oscar Isaac has revealed that he was originally attached to Visceral Games' Dante's Inferno before getting fired.
Speaking with BirthMoviesDeath, Isaac was questioned whether Disney Infinity: 3.0 Edition was his first voice acting role. "I had done a video game before, but I got fired off it," he said, referring to Dante's Inferno from Electronic Arts.
But why did the Poe Dameron actor get the boot? "I think they just thought I was bad," Isaac said. "It was such a shitty game, though. Dante’s Inferno."
Team Fortress 2 is getting new cosmetics, community maps, and another contract campaign in today's Tough Break update.
The patch is similar to this year's Gun Mettle update, in that it brings new achievement-style activities to complete with new weapons and cases as rewards. These come in the so-called Tough Break Campaign, which will run you $6 and last for three months.
If you don't have the in-game equipment necessary to complete a specific challenge, you're in luck. Tough Break will include a new "Loaner Program," allowing players to rent specific weapons for the purpose of completing contracts. As developer Valve puts it "It's like a library, but for murder accessories!"
The Iron Banner will return to Destiny on December 29, bringing with it new rewards.
Control will be the mode of choice this time around for the Iron Banner event, Bungie announced. Last month saw Clash being used for the first time. The event will last for a week and rewards will include a shotgun, auto rifle, as well as a helmet, pair of boots, and a class item for all three classes.

Fallout 4 is Amazon UK customer’s favourite game of 2015.
Amazon UK’s Best of 2015 poll, which saw some 10,000 votes counted, asked customers which game was their favourite out of 2015’s super-strong line-up.
Fallout 4 fought off strong competition from the likes of Black Ops III, FIFA 16, Metal Gear Solid, and The Witcher 3 to be crowned Amazon UK’s favourite game.

Everyone has their own pick. Is it Fallout 4, or maybe The Witcher 3? Gav, Krupa and Alex certainly know their favourite games of 2015, some of which you will probably agree with and some you might not - but that's okay, because individual tastes and all that. The most important thing is that 2015 has been yet another great year for games, whether it's indie darlings like Her Story breaking new ground or Kojima's Konami swansong, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
So don't get in a huff because we didn't pick your favourite (we probably did love it, it just wasn't on our list), but be thankful for yet another bountiful 12 months!
IGN UK Podcast #310: The Best Games of 2015
Ken Levine, creator of the BioShock series, has confirmed that his new game will feature a "small-scale open world".
Talking to the On Point show (via Gamespot), Levine stated that "AAA, single-player narrative games" were "starting to disappear", suggesting that tastes were shifting, and gamers today want a longer, more replayable games.
"The real reason
is they're very expensive to make and I think gamers are saying pretty loud and clear that if they're going to spend $40, $50, $60, they want an experience that lasts more than 10-12 hours. That's a lot to ask somebody to spend."

The first six F&F movies, plus room for the seventh, sitting at its low price. There is a set with all seven movies, but it's literally twice as expensive, so I'd go with this one.

The console versions of Minecraft are getting a colossal update.

If exploring’s more you thing, new biomes include Mesa, Mega Taiga, Roofed Forest, Birch Forest, Forest, Savanna, Extreme Hills+, Deep Ocean, Snowless Taiga, Ice Spikes, as well as 20 new Technical Biomes. Furthermore, anyone who decides to venture underwater has the chance to come across the new Ocean Monument structures.

Chris Sutherland and Gavin Price of Playtonic, formerly of Rare, have spoken about Rare's transition into Microsoft's premier Kinect developers, and their time working with the technology.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Sutherland and Price shared their memories of early Kinect demos. "It was definitely about games," said Price. "Everyone asked the designers to go away and think up different ideas for this device."
Kinect Sports was originally supposed to be more complex. Gavin Price said: "But I remember at some point, the feedback came down from Don Mattrick I believe, and it was: 'No, just give us Wii Sports with Kinect.'"
Sony has announced a partnership with Kojima Productions, Hideo Kojima's new independent development studio, which will create a new game for PlayStation platforms. Check out the company's new logo below, and come back to IGN on December 16 at 3pm Pacific for an interview with Kojima about his new studio.
Kojima's contract with Konami terminated today, December 15. He wrote on Twitter, "My employment contract with Konami has been terminated as of Dec 15th, so today marks a new start for me. I'm committed to be involved in creative activities for as long as I live."
Flash drives are getting some voxel-based style from Minetoys, a Minecraft merchandiser that has partnered with FabZat and Minefield to create 3D-printed figures that you can model after your own Minecraft avatar.
Through Minetoy's website, you can upload your personal avatar by either uploading a skin or entering your Minecraft account's username. Since it's not affiliated with Mojang, Minetoys can't offer selections like endermen or creepers, but can do just about any custom skin you can think of. See the gallery below for some examples of its work:
The figures come in multiple shapes and sizes, including different poses, a larger king size and as 8GB USB flash drives. You can browse Minetoys' uploaded gallery for pre-made skins if you don't have one, which includes characters like Ash Ketchum and Iron Man.
Metal Gear Solid creator and director Hideo Kojima has finally split with Konami, according to Japanese financial publication The Nikkei.
The report, translated from Japanese, explains that the developer will break with the publisher to begin a new studio. His new company will apparently retain an unspecified number of former Kojima Productions staff, and is in talks with Sony to develop for PlayStation platforms.
Kojima and Konami have been in conflict for the better part of 2015. It began publicly with the cancellation of the developer's Silent Hill project, and escalated as Konami removed Kojima's name from marketing material for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

Players can now pay real money to boost their characters to level 25 in Destiny.
The microtransactions popped up today on the French PlayStation Store. The three packs - one for every Guardian class – each contain a single-use item which boosts the player’s level to 25.
Each pack retails for €30 a pop, and while we don’t have confirmation of other regional pricing yet, NeoGAF members reckon UK pricing is £25 per use. You can expect more details to be released later today once the PS Store updates.

The last-gen version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will arrive on PS3 tomorrow, December 15, in the US.
The news comes via the US PS Blog. We asked Activision if there are any plans to bring Tony Hawk’s 5 to the UK, on either PS3 or Xbox 360, and received the following statement:
“Activision will not be releasing Tony Hawk’s 5 in the UK on those platforms at this time.”
Activision decided to delay the release of the last-gen versions of Tony Hawk’s back in October. The reason for the delay was to give Activision some extra time to work "on fixes and content updates,” for the PS4 and Xbox One iterations.
Starting today Guitar Hero Live players can go head-to-head with the game's new Rival Challenges.
"As you play through the channels, you will periodically be matched up against a similar-skilled opponent to square off, 1 v 1 style, in a song battle to test your skills," developer FreeStyleGames' announcement reads.
From there the challenge seemingly plays out like a normal set with both players' highways laid side-by-side. Neither player selects the song to be played, which is instead chosen by the game itself.
The winner of each challenge will earn bonus experience for their trouble, while both players will have an opportunity to show off their custom player cards.

IGN UK Podcast #309: The Best and Worst TV of 2015
Following community backlash, Valve has rebalanced Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's overpowered R8 Revolver.
"On Tuesday we shipped some major gameplay changes in CS:GO including the R8 Revolver, and players have been voicing legitimate concerns over the balance of the weapon as shipped," Valve acknowledged in a blog post, adding: "it’s clear that we got the damage wrong and can respond immediately."
As such, the team is "updating the R8 Revolver to bring its values to be more in line with other weapons" by reducing its damage and decreasing its rate of fire. The latest update also features a few other gameplay tweaks, including pistol and rifle rebalancing.
Gearbox Software is expanding to Canada.
The studio announced the formation of Gearbox Studio Quebec today, with "the goal of enhancing Gearbox Software's mission to entertain the world" within its current portfolio. It's currently on the hunt for game dev talent for its unannounced inaugural AAA title.
“We are fortunate that there is a lot of demand on us to deliver our brand of interactive entertainment within the powerful franchises we have at Gearbox Software and the challenge for us is growing to meet this demand,” said President of Gearbox Software Randy Pitchford in a statement. “As part of our strategy we have already successfully built an expanded all new headquarters in Frisco, Texas . We now look ahead to another key and exciting step which is our commitment towards our all-new Gearbox Studio Quebec where we strive to team up with some incredible talent in the world of video game development outside of Texas to help us build fun and exciting video games within our tent-pole brands.”
Telltale has revealed Minecraft: Story Mode - Episode 4 will be available digitally worldwide from Tuesday, December 22. The episode will also be available the same day for season pass disc owners via an online update
Telltale explains the fourth episode, 'A Block and a Hard Place,' will end the story of the Wither Storm, but a "mysterious fifth episode" of Minecraft: Story Mode remains slated for 2016.

Bungie has confirmed that there's still plenty of "plans", "stuff" and "things" in development for its sci-fi shooter, Destiny, including a "significant update to the world and sandbox".
"This week we saw some chatter bubbling up around our content plans for Year Two of Destiny," said community manager Erik Osborne in this week's Bungie update. "You seem worried that there won’t be any more substantial content until we ship another full game, or that all of the content for the rest of Year Two will come in the form of timed events."
Stating that Bungie "gets it" and understands that some fans were disappointed that a new expansion pack was not revealed at PSX, Osborne added that while "The Dark Below II: Darker and Lower" was "not a real project in development", there's plenty for players to look forward to in 2016.
The NPD Group has revealed North American retail sales data for the month of November 2015. The holiday's busiest, biggest month, which led to record sales that saw Sony's PlayStation 4 outselling all other hardware, included Fallout 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and Star Wars Battlefront.
Call of Duty topped the list, with Black Ops 3 outselling Advanced Warfare's first month. Fallout 4 placed second, and Star Wars Battlefront was the third-best seller of the month. Check out the top 10 sellers below, with their top-selling platforms listed left to right.

PlayStation 4 topped the hardware sales charts in November 2015, according to Sony and NPD Group, which tracks North American retail sales. Black Friday sales were "the strongest in PlayStation history" and November was the "biggest month ever for PlayStation Store."
November sales were driven by notable top-selling software such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (which topped the list), Star Wars Battlefront, and Fallout 4.
Sony's total PlayStation 4 sales are now in excess of 30.2 million units.
Electronic Arts has announced a new focus on esports by creating a new Competitive Gaming Division led by Peter Moore, who’s moving from COO to Executive Vice President and Chief Competition Officer. Battlefield, Madden NFL, FIFA, and other unspecified games will lead their own "global esports competitions."
Peter Moore told IGN, "We’re already very engaged with our development teams around the world to make sure our games have got modes that lend themselves very well to competitive gaming, built-in from the get-go. Not as something that’s put in as an add-on mode or a last-minute afterthought."

The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community has been rocked by the seemingly innocuous addition of the R8 Revolver.
The weapon costs $850 in in-game currency — just $150 more than the standard Desert Eagle. Yet the game's Reddit community has been worked into a fervor over the pistol’s stopping power, which sounds to be on par with weapons that cost five times as much.
Reddit posters note that the R8 seems incredibly accurate, even while moving, and can eliminate enemies in a single hit on most parts of the body. Videos of the weapon in action have begun to surface just hours after the patch, and seem to back this claim up.

Since LEGO Marvel's Avengers focuses on Earth's mightiest heroes and adapts the films in which those characters feature prominently, we asked the game's assistant director, Stephen Sharples, about the possibility of Captain America: Civil War DLC coming down the line.
"Stay tuned, I guess," he told IGN. "Obviously we’ve now got on record we’ve done a season pass previously with DLC. But at this point we’re still focussing on the main game, putting the finishing touches on it, and we just want to get the main game out there and make it as good as it can.
"As for anything in the future, you can never say never at this point in time."
Sounds like Civil War DLC could be on the cards. LEGO Marvel's Avengers is due out on January 26th in the US and January 28th, 2016.
LEGO Marvel's Avengers is drawing on the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a big way, adapting the two Avengers movies plus segments from Captain America: First Avenger, Winter Soldier, and Thor: The Dark World.
Even though Netflix's Marvel shows are considered part of the MCU, due to the mature tone of those shows the game will understandably revert to the classic comic book designs for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage.
Assistant game director Stephen Sharples explained, "It’s just a step too far for us to take that man in the black mask, Daredevil, who’s hanging people off buildings and things like that. It’s just a step too far for a LEGO game.
Bethesda Game Studios is opening a new office in Montreal, Quebec. The new studio is intended to expand Bethesda's current development capabilities in "console, PC, and mobile gaming."
Todd Howard, Bethesda Game Studio's executive producer, said Bethesda has worked with "very talented developers" in Montreal for quite some time, and the company "decided it was time to open a studio there."
The studio will be managed by Yves Lachance. Lachance worked with Behavior Interactive, the studio behind the iOS and Android versions of Fallout tie-in Fallout Shelter.
Lachance said he is "thrilled" to be opening an office in Montreal and "contributing our city’s great game-making talent" to help develop future Bethesda games.
Konami has announced that it will be adding "Legend" players to Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 as part of its myClub expansion plans.
For a one week period beginning December 17, you'll be able to get the likes of Roberto Baggio, Filippo Inzaghi, Oliver Kahn, Roberto Carlos, and Luis Figo for your myClub roster.
MyClub is the mode in PES 2016 where you assemble a squad made up of players from around the world.
These players will also be available for those playing the new free-to-play version of PES 2016, which launched today. In IGN's review of PES 2016, we said that "small but crucial improvements make PES 2016 a thrilling game of football."
Destiny's dance emotes - previously only available via micro-transactions - are now available as Nightfall rewards.
Redditer Axxx31 recently confirmed that a friend had received a Mystery Bag upon completing the latest weekly Nightfall. The item was described as "contain
one emote from fall 2015, highly likely to contain an emote not currently owned".
Another commenter confirmed that they received the 'Carlton' dance as a reward for finishing the challenge.
There was no mention of this in Bungie's recent communications about Update 2.1.0.
YouTube has revealed its top trending gaming videos for 2015, which the site notes is “based on views, shares, comments, likes, and more.”
The number one gaming video by a soberingly enormous margin is a pre-rendered/live-action commercial for Finnish free-to-play game Clash of Clans, with 83.4 million views. The well-executed live-action Grand Theft Auto V homage and the highly-anticipated reveal trailer for Star Wars Battlefront follow in position two and three respectively, although shockingly the Clash of Clans commercial has almost four times the views of either of the latter.

Bungie is taking a new approach to future support for Destiny: The Taken King, with plans to offer smaller, event-based content rather than large-scale DLC packs.
In an interview with Eurogamer, senior designer Derek Carroll discussed the studio's new strategy. "With Taken King we are moving to a more event-based model - things like Festival of the Lost and Sparrow racing, which is our winter event, and then smaller events such as Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris every weekend," he said.
"Rather than doing these giant, monolithic DLC packs, this way everybody who's an owner of Taken King can enjoy these things."
The December Update for Destiny in now available, Bungie has announced.
The studio confirmed the update's launch in a post on Twitter, noting it's currently "being deployed on all platforms."
Update 2.1.0 brings with it the Sparrow Racing League, which Bungie unveiled this past weekend at PSX. You'll need Destiny: The Taken King in order to take advantage of new mode, which will be available until December 29.
The update also introduces a number of class changes, including some significant adjustments to the Titan. The game's suite of armor and weaponry has been rebalanced, Strikes and Nightfalls have been tweaked a bit, and the Crucible has received several new additions as well. The remastered version of Resident Evil 0 will release on January 19, Capcom has announced.
This enhanced HD port of the GameCube original will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC for $19.99, according to the publisher's announcement.
Those who pre-order the game (for any platform except Xbox 360) will receive an exclusive costume pack, allowing you to dress up Billy up as a member of Wolf Force. The pack also features an in-game Resident Evil 0 t-shirt and cheerleader outfit for Rebecca.
The latest adversary mode to be added to Grand Theft Auto Online is called Every Bullet Counts and is now available.
Every Bullet Counts is a variant on Last Man Standing where four players compete in a confined space. You'll have just one marksman pistol and two bullets to take out your three opponents.
Once ammo runs out, you'll have to resort to hatchet or machete melee attacks. If you stay still for more than five seconds you'll have your blip revealed on the map, so you'll have to keep moving.
The new free for all game mode features a couple of new locations, including Michael's Rockford Hills mansion and the Tequi-la-la nightclub.
Other new content to be added to GTA Online this year includes Freemode Events, Lowriders, and the Slasher adversary mode. Grand Theft Auto V has now sold over 54 million copies, and the franchise has shipped over 220 million total.

Microsoft's former chief experience officer and chief technology officer for the entertainment and devices division J Allard believed Xbox would kick off a new era for the global software developer.
"In many ways, I thought about Xbox as the starting point for a second Microsoft," Allard told GamesTM in an interview. He thought the Xbox could help move Microsoft to become a company "totally focused on consumers, entertainment and artists."
Allard pointed to Apple, noting how it's seen enormous success with its "focus on consumers, media, consumption and non-PC form factors." He expressed disappointment that Xbox didn't become something even more than it already is.
"Yes, it was a success in the gaming category," he said, but he had hoped it would have served as a jumping-off point for Microsoft to introduce "a consumer-minded platform, brand and set of products and services" that would have been complimentary to the Windows and office productivity side of Microsoft's business.
Former Microsoft executive J Allard said that when it came to the core functionality of the Xbox 360, HD-DVD distracted his team from its core beliefs as to what the gaming machine should focus on.
"A new format for high-resolution movies was not important to us," Allard told GamesTM in an interview.
Instead, the former chief technology officer for the entertainment and devices division at Microsoft said "leading the charge in online gaming" was where his team concentrated its focus.
"We spent a stupid amount of time on stuff like HD-DVD in response to the competition," Allard said, referring to Sony's decision to ship the PS3 with a Blu-Ray drive. At the time, both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray were fledgling formats, both vying for a foothold in an ecosystem where only one could survive.
Iconic movie characters The Terminator and famed Halloween slasher Michael Myers were at one point considered for additional characters in Mortal Kombat X.
Speaking with IGN's Joshua Yehl, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon said, "We've tossed around a whole bunch of names, like The Terminator, or something like that. And for various reasons – whether it wasn't a match, or we just couldn't come to terms with it – they didn't happen.
"We're always exploring a lot more than we actually end up doing. For instance: Michael Meyers from the Halloween franchise. We talked about that at one point but it just never kind of panned out."
Of course, Mortal Kombat X already has an impressive contingent of movie monsters as playable characters in Mortal Kombat X, including Jason Voorhees, the Predator, alongside the recently announced Xenomorph from Alien and Leatherface of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre fame.
Fallout 4 Pip-Boys Are Back In Stock
Amazon has cracked open the vault and put some more Pip-Boy Editions up for sale.
We have our first details, not to mention release windows, for Rise of the Tomb Raider's upcoming slate of DLC.
The first bit of content is Endurance Mode. Available this year, December 29, the new difficulty setting will challenge players in unique ways. "Fire takes fuel, cold kills the unprepared, food restores health, but everything must be caught, collected, or crafted," says Microsoft.
Second is Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch. A Baba Yaga trailer was shown at The Game Awards last night, and sports an almost hallucinatory look and feel as Lara Croft tracks the folkloric phantom through a supposedly haunted forest. It will be "available in early 2016."

During The Game Awards tonight, Microsoft revealed that the first downloadable content for Rise of the Tomb Raider, Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, will launch in January 2016 on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
As posted on Xbox Wire, the content takes place in Siberia, where "there is a forbidden forest that no man will enter, where a Soviet expedition vanished without a trace. Lara enters the Wicked Vale in search of a missing man, but what she finds is a nightmare that she cannot explain. Is the witch, Baba Yaga, truly haunting the forbidden forest? Or is there more to the legend?"
Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima was instructed he was not permitted to attend The Game Awards 2015 ceremony to accept any awards for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, host Geoff Keighley has revealed.
“As you noticed Hideo Kojima is not here with us tonight and I want to tell you a little bit about that,” explained Keighley. “Mr. Kojima had every intention of being with us tonight but unfortunately he was informed by a lawyer representing Konami just recently that he would not be allowed to travel to tonight’s awards ceremony to accept any awards.”
“He’s still under an employment contract and it’s disappointing, and it’s inconceivable to me that an artist like Hideo would not be allowed to come here and celebrate with his peers and his fellow teammates.”
Telltale has announced that its Walking Dead spinoff based on fan favorite character Michonne will premiere in February 2016.
The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Games Series will be a three-part standalone series that will premiere on PC/Mac, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, iOS, and Android.
According to Telltale, the game's story explores Michonne's "untold journey during the time between issues #126 and #139. Through this three-episode Telltale Games series, players will discover what took Michonne away from Rick, Ezekiel, and the rest of her trusted group... and what brought her back."
As teased earlier today, the Michonne series will star Samira Wiley from Netflix's Orange is the New Black.
Telltale has revealed that they're working on a Batman game.During The Game Awards 2015, Telltale premiered a brief teaser trailer that acted as a tone piece for the series. It will be launching in 2016.

New light-up Star Wars figures are coming to Disney Infinity 3.0.
The figures, which come with a light-up lightsaber when placed on the Disney Infinity base, include Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. In the US there’s one additional figure in the form of Kanan Jarrus.
The Star Wars Light FX character figures are a limited run, and will be each sold at separate retailers per region. The breakdown of who is where is as follows:
Capcom has confirmed that the upcoming Resident Evil 2 will be a remake, and not a remaster.
The publisher's recent investor report stated that the game would be a "remastered" version, but Capcom UK's senior marketing director Stuart Turner clarified on Twitter that it had been a "mistranslation" and the classic horror game would be "a full from the ground up remake NOT a remaster."

Indivisible, the fantasy RPG from Skullgirls creators Lab Zero Games, has been funded.
The game's Indiegogo campaign currently sits at just under $1.6 million, making it the highest grossing gaming project on the crowdfunding platform ever.
The campaign was also a fixed one, meaning that Lab Zero would only receive donations if they reached their original $1.5 million goal. This is typically not the case on Indiegogo, which allows projects to keep whatever funding they receive regardless of the final tally. Given the restrictions, and the amount of money involved, this is an important moment for both the developer and its donation service of choice.
Shaquille O'Neal is headed to The Game Awards on Thursday, and he has an announcement to make about Shaq Fu.
We learned back in March 2014 that Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn was in development. Shaq himself has taken to Twitter to let us know an announcement is coming this week.

Shadow Complex appears to be getting a remastered port to the PC if a Pan European Game Information, or PEGI, rating is any indication.
According to the PEGI site, Shadow Complex Remastered is suitable for “persons aged 16 and over only” because it contains “realistic looking violence”. The only version rated at this time is a PC version so it is not clear if an Xbox One version of the game is forthcoming. A release date of December 2, 2015 is shown on the site, but that could pertain to the date of the listing.
You might recall Shadow Complex originally being released on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360 back in 2009. Check out our review to see why we loved it so much it’s still included on our list of top 25 Xbox 360 games.

Independent Japanese developer Platinum Games (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, the Bayonetta series) is readying a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, according to a new entry in the Australian Classification Board’s ratings database.
Based on the limited information contained in the entry the game is called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan and the publisher is noted as Activision. The game is rated M due to moderate impact violence. The M category in Australia is not a legally restricted category but is applied to games and films recommended for persons 15 and over.
