Despite only releasing in November, Call of Duty: Black Ops III was runner-up with 25.5 million tweets, and in third place was FIFA 16, with 7.1 million mentions.
Surprisingly, FIFA 15 also charted with 4.9 million tweets, beating Assassin's Creed: Syndicate and The Witcher 3 to secure fifth place.
Compiled by Twitter Gaming, the chart demonstrates that we also spent much of last year tweeting about Fallout 4, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Batman: Arkham Knight and Battlefield Hardline.
