Kevin Conroy Would 'Aboslutely' Do a Justice League Video Game

During an interview with Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy, he expressed interest doing a Justice League game with developer Rocksteady. While Rocksteady has said they won't be doing anymore Batman games, fans have voiced their desire for the franchise to continue in a Justice League game. We asked Conroy if he was interested in doing a Justice League game with Rocksteady and he responded enthusiastically.

"Oh yeah! Absolutely," he said. "I would love to do that. It's really hard to record games and very hard to create them, but the result is so rewarding that it makes it worthwhile at the end."

Despite Batman: Arkham Knight's story ending in explosive fashion, Conroy has hopes that the game series will continue.

SEGA Financials Report Dramatic Decrease in Sales

SEGA's most recent financial earnings report was not a wholly positive one.

Reporting a decrease of 42 percent in net sales, the publisher reports sales earnings of ¥52.9 billion ($426 million), operating losses of ¥9.5 billion ($76 million), and net losses of ¥7.9 billion ($63.8 million).

SEGA representatives largely attribute the decrease in sales figures to global economies, with additional issues arising from the reported decrease in demand for game software, amusement centers, and amusement machines in Japan.

"The economy still remained in the condition requiring further time for full recovery due to uncertainty towards a downswing in overseas economies arising from factors such as the slowdown of growth in the economies of emerging countries and European debt crisis," SEGA said.

Capcom Exploring Resident Evil 2 Remake

Capcom is looking into remaking Resident Evil 2.

Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi revealed on the official Resident Evil Facebook page that he was presenting his ideas for a Resident Evil 2 project to the company. "Right after the

HD Remaster project was finished, I actually started putting together my ideas for this 'RE2 Project,'" he said. "So, I just brushed it up and went to see my boss to present the basic concept of the project already."

Hirabayashi has worked on the Resident Evil series for years, contributing to the GameCube remake, Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. He expressed his excitement earlier this week about a Resident Evil 2 remake after Capcom R&D Division 1 asked fans if they would be interested by such a project. The response was quite positive.

Indie Game Prices are Too High, Says Indie Dev

Zeboyd Games' Robert Boyd has some strong opinions about the current state of indie game prices.

"I've seen a disturbing trend of more and more indie games launching at higher prices recently," he wrote candidly on a NeoGAF post. "Whereas $10-$15 was the norm for non-mobile indie games not that long ago, it feels like more and more $20 is becoming the standard."

According to Boyd, having a reduced price tag often means games can be more lucrative and successful for their creators.

"Lower prices often benefit both players and the developer. Lower prices mean more people play your game. Lower prices often result in more positive reviews," he said.

XCOM 2: Every New Class and Alien Revealed So Far

From machete swords to highly corrosive acid spit, check out what each class has in store so far.

XCOM 2 comes with a plethora of new soldier and alien classes, each equipped with their own unique set of skills to take into battle. Join us as we take a look at each and every new class and what they have to offer.

The Ranger

The Ranger is a close-ranged combat expert that comes equipped with a machete sword and an assault rifle or shotgun. Depending on how you stat into this class, it can either be made to become a full-on damage dealer or an agile scout. But the main highlight here comes from the class' machete sword, which when paired with the right skills, can make him/her into a lethal close-ranged offensive machine.

The Specialist

The Specialist is a versatile soldier that acts mainly as a support class, but can also be upgraded to take on other roles, such as objective or enemy control. He/she comes equipped with a handy drone called the Gremlin, which has its own special set of skills. For instance, it has a skill called Intrusion Protocol that allows it to hack and control robotic enemies. Whatever your preference, the Specialist can be a valuable asset to your team.

The Sharpshooter

Those who played the original XCOM: Enemy Unknown will probably remember the god-like power of that game's Sniper class. That class has returned to XCOM 2 as the Sharpshooter. But this time around, the Sharpshooter has proficiency in not just sniper rifles, but with pistols too. Two separate trees for each weapon divide the approach that you can take with this class, allowing you the freedom to either stat into one weapon or go into both to create a Sharpshooter with a powerful mix of long-range and close-range attacks.

The Chryssalid

The dreaded Chryssalid returns to XCOM 2 with some slight changes to their attacks and tactics. Different from previous games, this vile creature's attacks are now all poisonous. What's more, any soldiers who perish from being poisoned will turn into cocoons, which upon hatching, will spawn three more Chryssalids in its place. To make matters worse, the Chryssalid can now burrow into the ground, further increasing their frustrating unpredictability.

The Muton

XCOM 2's version of the Muton is just as brutish as ever in close-quarters combat. But thanks to the genetic splicing of human DNA, this hulking extraterrestrial has become more intelligent than ever before. Given new skills like Suppression, which allows it to reduce the aim of their targets, and Alien Grenade, which deals damage to groups of soldiers, the Muton can easily get the upper-hand over you if you're not careful.

The Viper

New to XCOM 2 is the Viper, a lethal humanoid snake woman who can be a vicious pain to your unit's backside. She comes equipped with an assortment of different skills, such as spewing corrosive acid spit or using her tail to ensnare and strangle your soldiers. But the worst of this comes from her horrifying tendency to use her tongue to drag your soldiers out of cover. So unless you have a plan, the Viper is not an enemy you want to go anywhere near.

The Sectoid

The classic Sectoid is back again in XCOM 2, albeit a bit different from how you might remember it. Much like the Muton, the Sectoid has been spliced with human DNA, which in turn has improved the power of its psionic abilities. The Sectoid can now use a host of new skills, like Psi Reanimate to bring your fallen comrades back from the dead to fight against you. Additionally, it can even use a skill called Mind Spin, which is a randomized dice roll of sorts that can inflict different status effects upon your soldiers.

The Berserker

If it's anything we've learned from XCOM: Enemy Unknown, it's that the Berserker is an enemy that you don't want to touch you. This hasn't changed in XCOM 2, seeing as she's still an immense force that can decimate your units. Though from what we've seen, she's much tougher and faster than ever before.

New Enemy Class: The Advent Administration

Ever since the alien forces defeated humanity at the end of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the world has been under their control for nearly 20 years. As a result, a part of the human population succumbed to their rule. This gave rise to the Advent administration, which is a force of humans who loyally serve the aliens and fight against all threats to their world order.

Advent Troopers

Advent Troopers are XCOM 2's run-of-the-mill grunts. As the first enemy type that you'll run into, these soldiers will be what you'll spend most of your time gunning down when there aren't aliens or Advent Captains around to worry about.

Advent Captain

While Advent Troopers are simple goons to take care of with the right coordination of attacks, the task becomes much more difficult when in the presence of an Advent Captain. This is because this special enemy class is outfitted with skills that increase the effectiveness of the lowly Advent Troopers in their command. Just by the presence of an Advent Captain alone, the Troopers are given a boost to their aim and attack power. So if you value the lives of your unit, it's a good idea to eliminate any Advent Captains on the field as soon as possible.

Advent Mech Mk. II

The Advent Mech Mk. II functions much like the MECs introduced in XCOM: Enemy Within. Durable and powerful, they don't use cover and instead focus on assaulting your troops by any means necessary. They can often be a nuisance to groups of soldiers due to the destructive power of the micro missile that they come equipped with.

Advent Turret

The Advent Turret is a stationery mounted gun that is typically affixed to Advent vehicles. While designed to fire at your unit or any other targets it considers hostile, the Advent Turret can be hacked into by the Specialist's Gremlin drone to assist you instead.

10 New Things in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

For a franchise that cycles through a new iteration every year, keeping things fresh is perhaps the biggest challenge facing the developers of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. But during a recent studio tour at Ubisoft Quebec, GameSpot was shown a whole host of new ideas and interesting additions that Syndicate will bring to the series, from free-flowing weapon combat, to dynamic music, to a vast river developed by an entire studio, to a distinct female hero with dedicated animations and combat styles. Click on the next image to take a look at what's new.

Carriage of Justice

According to Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed’s three pillars are navigation, stealth, and combat. The Quebec studio, however, is introducing a new one into the mix: vehicles. And it seems like it has put some genuine thought into how they can be used to support the existing pillars. Vehicles are being integrated into each of the key Assassin’s Creed gameplay elements, so players will be able to parkour around them, climb onto them, or use them as platforms by leaping between them. They can also be used in stealth by taking refuge inside. Fights can travel from the streets onto the top of moving carriages, where the player can punt pursuers into the path of oncoming traffic, or even use gunfire to spook horses and jack-knife other road users. There’s also the ability to ram other people off the road. Needless to say, London is bustling with traffic, which gives Jacob and Evie plenty of opportunity to engage with vehicles in different ways. Enemies are as capable of using carriages as you are, which means they will hijack the player, or use them to escape.

Batman’s Creed

In previous games there was a disconnect between hand-to-hand brawling and the use of items. Ubisoft Quebec has taken a page from Rocksteady’s book to remedy this and blended item use into the flow of combat, much like the Dark Knight in the Arkham series. In Syndicate, key items are mapped to a single-button press for easy access. For example, Jacob’s pistol can be fired off in between punches with a quick press of a button. This is supported by seamless animations that tie all the actions together. No more coming to a dead stop to fire a gun, instead you can quickly alternate between attack and tool, letting you build up big cool multi-kills. This change was made to preserve the sense of momentum and provide a tool to control large crowds. The addition also paves the way for ranged counters, which will automatically use an equipped tool to interrupt an enemy's offense. If you have a smoke bomb equipped, your character will lob it at whoever has crosshairs on you. It seems other special items will also have similar functions.

London Life

Syndicate’s streets of London mix opulent, historic landmarks with dangerous alleyways and dead-ends. Ubisoft Quebec is building different boroughs that are drastically different in mood, feel, and visual themes from one other. Each area is designed to reflect a different facet of London’s personality, altogether depicting the city as its own textured character. Westminster, for example, is patronised by the bourgeoisie, littered with iconic buildings, parks, and broad streets. Southwark, meanwhile, is the industrial lung of London, where the working-class toil away to generate the financial wealth thrusting the city into the future. The City of London, by contrast, is purely dedicated to finance and commercialism. Lambeth is described as the “rotten marsh borough,” while Strand is the entertainment district, and Whitechapel is referred to as the “underworld borough.”

Down by the River

The Thames is so important to Assassin’s Creed Syndicate that Ubisoft Singapore has been tasked with dedicating all its development efforts to it. London’s most famous river is being treated as its own borough, complete with systemic boat gameplay, activities such as robbing cargo, and skipping-along-moving-platforms navigation that has been compared to Frogger. There is, however, more to why the Thames is so critical, as Ubisoft Quebec’s world director, Jonathan Dumont, explained: “Visually, it ties everything together. It is the best landmark we could find. Any time you’re in London, you see the Thames and you know where you’re at. You always see something different across from you too. The elbow shape allowed us to get a big opening that you could get a big view across from the tall East End of the map to the West End right through the Thames. You catch a bunch of themes when doing that and think ‘I want to go explore there.’”

English Earworms

Nineteenth century London is a very musical city, so Ubisoft Quebec is weaving musical integration deep into the towns and boroughs of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. For example, the world is peppered with musical emitters that are placed on various buildings and landmarks. These trigger different music when the player comes into contact with them, and also vary depending on the time of day. When exploring the streets of London, music will also drift out from pubs, where patrons make merry, or out through the windows of homes inside of which upper-class children are having piano recitals. The interesting thing is that music in Syndicate impacts the ambience and can be carried around the city. When hearing these tunes, NPCs will sometimes begin to hum or whistle along absentmindedly, creating a greater sense of authenticity to the world and helping give each area a unique flavour.

Murderous Ballads

In 19th century Britain, songs known as "Murder Ballads" were written about notorious criminals of the time. A modern example of this is Johnny Cash’s "My Name is Sam Hall," itself based on an old English folk song in which a criminal sings about being condemned to death. Ubisoft is drawing on music buried deep within the folk culture of London. In fact, Sam Hall being used as the theme for Whitechapel. A number of unique Murder Ballads are also being written for Syndicate that--after key sequences in the game--will be heard being sung by people. The lyrics of these tunes will directly reference the things the player has done or tell the tales of notorious figures in the city. For those that loved Black Flag’s shanties, this is sure to be music to their ears.

Fight Music

Music is also woven into combat, dynamically building in layers based on the difficulty and scale of a battle. There are numerous musical suites tied to the way an encounter escalates, which provides a kind of aural feedback on the scope of a challenge. Meanwhile, fight music for each of the two characters is made to reflect their personalities, so for Jacob--a brawler by nature--low intensity fights emphasise that he’s often outmatching his opponent. As more enemies enter the fray, new layers to the track surface and the combat almost becomes rhythm based, with Jacob matching the music to create a dance of death motif. Whether it works is yet to be seen, but Ubisoft Quebec wants to give combat a sense of dynamism and new feel.

Float Like a Butterfly, Sting Like a Very Angry Bee

Although Jacob and Evie Frye have a core set of combat moves to share, Ubisoft has also attempted to differentiate the way each character brawls. Both embody a different style of assassin, with Jacob representing raw power and Evie precision. Jacob is constantly using the momentum of his previous motions to explode into his next. In doing this he sacrifices precision. He also has more of a disruptive presence on the battlefield, as he throws enemies around and slams them into objects. Evie, on the other hand, is the knife from the shadows to her brother's bomb on the battlefield. She takes her time to aim and cleanly kill a target before moving on. There’s a litheness to her movement which comes from unique animations Ubisoft has created specifically for her. Almost all of Assassin’s Creed protagonists have looked and felt the same in combat, until now.

Training Day

Trains are at the heart of the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate experience, and Ubisoft Quebec has done its due diligence to make sure that trainspotters are happy with what they get. Players will be able to hop on to the top of trains and duke it out with enemies foolish enough to follow (that’s pretty much all of them), but Ubisoft Quebec has also modelled the interior of each train carriage and filled them with passenger AI. The entire train system functions realistically, which means they will pull into stations and run on a set schedule. A crazy math boffin at Ubisoft even did the calculations to apply an accurate physics model to the trains. This means train carriages will realistically gain and transfer momentum when moving off and coming to a stop. And yes, you can uncouple different carriages of the train as you please, so there’s plenty of opportunity to make mischief.

It's The Fuzz!

You didn’t think you’d just be able to cause wanton chaos unchecked did you? London has police and they’re not very fond of mysterious hooded figures skulking in the shadows, scampering up buildings, and leaping across rooftops, especially when they leave a trail of dead bodies. Cause enough trouble and the English boys in blue will give chase. Unlike previous games, which had guards stationed in specific areas or doing set patrol patterns, Syndicate’s officers of the law are spread across the entire city and always on the lookout for nogoodniks. They’re a fearless bunch too, fully up for chasing you across busy streets and hopping onto moving vehicles to catch their man or woman.

EA Earnings Report Sees Rise in Digital Sales in Q1 2016

Electronic Arts has announced that while it did not generate more revenue in the first quarter of fiscal 2016, it still managed to exceed expectations.

The major publisher revealed a net revenue of $1.2 billion, down from the previous $1.21 billion. Net income, however increased $355 million to $442 million year-over-year.

EA's digital sales have seen a large increase, currently making up more than 50 percent of revenue. This marks a significant jump from the 44 percent reported at the same time last year.

A number of statistics about EA games were revealed as well, including the fact that FIFA 15 players have played an average of 16 million matches per day, the monthly active users for EA mobile games averaged more than 150 million people, and trailers, livestreams, and gameplay of upcoming EA games were viewed 53 million times during the week of E3 2015.

The 13 Most Frustrating Video Game Challenges Ever

The Great Palace

Who would have thought that mere birds could burn you from a distance in such an effective manner? In Zelda II: The Adventure Of Link, you find out.

The Water Temple

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time has an underwater level featuring tons of doors, keys, levers, locks … and tears.

Big Score Obvious Approach

Fans of Grand Theft Auto V cite this mission as quite the pain, especially when players choose the higher-paying “obvious approach.” No wonder it pays $201.6 million.

Imperator Mar'gok

The latest World of Warcraft expansion introduces players to a super-hard ogre mage. Some have complained that the two-headed foe is actually too hard, compared with the rest of the game.

Emerald Graves rift

Dragon Age: Inquisition players, a warning: If you venture out into the Emerald Graves too early, you regret it soon enough, thanks to an oddly stubborn fade rift with demons that dole out almost instant death.

The Great Maze

Don’t you just love facing off against all the bosses you’ve already killed? The creators of Super Smash Bros. Brawl seemed to think we would.

Truth and Reconciliation

It can be tough to decide which task is the hardest in Halo: Combat Evolved. But plenty of fans still shudder when they recall this rescue mission, which is the first level in the game to introduce Hunters, Zealot Elites and Stealth Elites.

Tubular

In ‘80s-speak, tubular means “great.” Among Super Mario Bros. fans? Not so much.

Your Random Dragon Priest

In Skyrim, some floating undead baddies can sport serious armor (such as powerful masks), not to mention very high magic skills.

Chamber 18

As if this Portal room, packed with turrets and laser beams, isn’t taxing enough, you also get to hear GlaDOS threaten, “You will be baked and then there will be cake.” Thanks. Thanks a lot.

Master Core

This Super Smash Bros. boss eventually morphs into a candy-hued orb. Think that a gobstopper-colored ball is all pleasant and sweet just because it has pretty colors? Just try defeating it at level 9 intensity.

The Ender Dragon

Minecraft devotees know that defeating this boss isn’t just about hitting it; you also have to keep it away from ender crystals, which heal the creature.

Level 65

Candy is supposed to be fun. Candy is supposed to be a treat. But Level 65 of Candy Crush Saga is routinely described by players as quite the opposite of all that.

The 20 Most Lucrative Games You Can Play Professionally

1. Dota 2: $28 Million-plus Awarded in Prize Money

The amount of money being won in Dota 2 is astonishing. In just two short years the game has become a cash-generating machine. The top players, such as Jonathan Berg featured above, frequently bring home upwards of $1 million dollars with their teams.

2. League of Legends: Nearly $20 Million Awarded in Prize Money

After Dota, League of Legends is the next eSports heavy hitter, seeing an explosion of tournament payouts recently. The 2014 LoL World Championships had one of the largest prize pools in history: $2.3 million!

3. StarCraft II: $15 Million Awarded in Prize Money

StarCraft II quickly surpassed even the formidably successful original StarCraft in competitive earnings. This year's StarCraft II World Championship Series, hosted by Blizzard, has a $1.6 million prize pool.

4. Counter-Strike: $10 Million Awarded in Prize Money

Counter-Strike in its original state may be an older game, but it still brings in money at tournaments to this day. CSGO is close at its heels, though, so there are many indications it will quickly overtake its immensely popular predecessor

5. StarCraft: Brood War: $6 Million-plus Awarded in Prize Money

Thanks to South Korea's continued interest in the game's legacy players, Brood War continues to remain relevant. Competitions have largely moved onto SonicTV Starleague, with nearly $50,000 still awarded each year.

6. Call of Duty: More Than $4 Million Awarded Across the Franchise

Call of Duty's a tricky prospect due to its annual updates. Typically, the most recent game rules the day for payouts, like this year's $1 million in prizes for Advanced Warfare at the Call of Duty Championships. It definitely pays to play Call of Duty, and it always pays to play the latest version.

7. The Halo Series: $4 Million-plus Awarded Across the Franchise

Like Call of Duty, all the Halo games remain popular for tournaments, with the biggest cash prizes typically going to the most recent releases. If you want to make some money, focus on Halo 4, and Halo 5 when it's released this year as well.

8. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive: Almost $4 Million Awarded in Prize Money

Counter-Strike: GO just came out in 2012, but its pro players have already collected a significant amount of money at competitions worldwide, like the DreamHack Tournament featured here, with a $250,000 community-funded prize pool. (Image by Adela Sznajder)

9. Warcraft III: Over $3.5 Million Awarded in Prizes

Another older title that has had surprising longevity in the competitive scene. Most of the money still being made these days is in Asian tournaments, such as the World Cyber Games pictured above.

10. SMITE: $3 Million Awarded in Prizes

The online deity battler SMITE has become a worldwide sensation. The SMITE World Championship in Atlanta, Georgia, saw teams from Europe and China fighting for $2.5 million.

11. World of Warcraft: Almost $2 Million Awarded in Prize Money

A lot of serious dough has been won from World of Warcraft Arena tournaments. Team Bleached Bones, the winners of BlizzCon's World of Warcraft Arena Championship 2014, snagged $120,000.

12. Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft: $1.3 Million Awarded in Prize Money

The digital Warcraft card game Hearthstone has had massive popularity at tournaments too. Pro player Firebat (featured above) just took home $100,000 from the Hearthstone World Championships at BlizzCon 2014.

13. World of Tanks: $1.2 Million Awarded in Prize Money

The online shooter World of Tanks has experienced gigantic success in the European competitive scene, with hundreds of thousands of dollars circulating in contests annually.

14. CrossFire: $800,000 Awarded in Prize Money

CrossFire's a tactical first-person shooter that dominates South Korea and China. Most of the serious prizes have been won in the World Cyber Arena, which recently paid out $187,335 for a tournament in October of 2014.

15. FIFA: $600,000 Awarded Across the Franchise

FIFA used to make some serious cash for pros when Virgin Gaming held its huge EA Sports Challenges. Virgin recently transformed into World Gaming, but as long as EA keeps making quality FIFA games, you can expect the competitive scene to continue.

16. Madden NFL: $500,000-plus Awarded Across the Franchise

Another victim of Virgin Gaming's transformation, competitive Madden at this point is definitely more of a speculative proposition. A lot of money flows through the franchise, however, and as competitive gaming continues to grow, you can bet on more tournaments in the future.

17. Heroes of Newerth: $500,000-plus Awarded in Prize Money

This online battle arena game faithfully follows the path set out by Defense of the Ancients, and it's seen some of its enormous success as well. The prize pool for this year's HoN Tour World Finals in Thailand climbed to over $185,000.

18. Super Smash Bros. Melee: Nearly $400,000 Awarded in Prize Money

While there are competitions for newer versions of Smash, Melee will always reign as the king of the tournament scene. Melee features in a large number of tournaments with small prizes, so you'll want to focus on Apex and MLG for bigger payouts.

19. Street Fighter IV: More Than $250,000 Awarded in Prize Money

Street Fighter IV may have singlehandedly revived fighting games for a broad audience. While recent tournaments have focused on Ultra Street Fighter IV, expect Street Fighter V to rise in the competitive scene when it releases later this year.

20. Team Fortress 2: More Than $150,000 Awarded in Prize Money

Valve's team-based shooter has been a heavy in the tournament scene, with the ESEA's competitions showing the most life recently. But in all honesty, you could generate even bigger sums by trading rare hats for the game on the black market.
