Bethesda Studios game director and executive producer Todd Howard will receive a lifetime achievement award at the Game Developer's Choice Awards during GDC in March.
The recognition comes for Howard's work on games with "pioneering open world gameplay" as well as his "his indelible contributions to the world of gaming."
GDC events general manager Meggan Scavio said "We’re proud to honor the visionary developer for his leadership in creating these universes," specifically referring to the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series. In a broader sense, Scavio is referring to the work Howard has done in his 22 years at Bethesda.
"This award reflects on the amazing craft of Todd Howard and his team," Scavio added.
